The Semnoz and Mont Veyrier
Rising to nearly one thousand seven hundred metres above the town, the Semnoz offers, in summer, pastures, family trails and vast views from Mont Blanc to the Bauges. In winter, it becomes a very friendly small ski area. Opposite, Mont Veyrier can be climbed in a morning for a plunging view over the lake. A coffee in a refuge, a sandwich on the grass, and the date takes on the air of a getaway.
Paragliders and Col de la Forclaz
Col de la Forclaz is one of the most famous paragliding sites in the world: multicoloured wings take off facing the lake in a continuous ballet. Flying tandem together, then landing gently on Doussard beach, leaves an unforgettable memory. For the less daring, the pass terrace offers a memorable panoramic lunch, especially late morning when the light is pure.
Fier Gorges and Angon Waterfall
A short way from town, the Fier Gorges impress with their walkways suspended over a narrow canyon. On the lake’s east shore, the Angon Waterfall is reached by a shady path ending under a refreshing curtain of water. The more athletic can try the massif’s via ferrata together. On Lyad, members from Annecy share their favourite hikes; it is up to you to find someone to lace up with.
